Product Designer

Overview

Responsibilities

  • CloudSense has an exciting opportunity for a Product Designer on our core products, a critical role within the Product Management team. This team sets the vision and strategy for all current and future CloudSense products
  • As a champion for CloudSense products, the Product Designer engages actively with customers, partners, internal stakeholders, and the market in general to determine the “what” and “why” of innovations CloudSense brings to market with the best possible experience
  • Drive a culture of innovation in the design team, staying up to date with the latest industry trends
  • Collaboration and partnering with Product Managers and delivery teams to create improved customer experiences for our customers and colleagues
  • This role is at the heart of CloudSense, and works closely with all teams across the company including our Engineering, Design, Marketing, Sales, Services and Customer Success teams
  • Understand our products, target markets/industries, customers, key partners and strategic roadmap
  • Analyse the markets and competition to determine opportunities for differentiating our product portfolio
  • Drive product ideation internally and externally to seek out new innovations for our future portfolio
  • Listen to our customers to understand their needs, as well as communicate and validate our strategy and roadmap in helping them unlock value in the future
  • Conduct workshops with key subject matter experts, define personas, analyse requirements and produce clear and concise user stories with defined acceptance criteria
  • Develop specific roadmap(s) in conjunction with our industry experts and your product management colleagues, based on commercially defined outcomes and with clear timelines and investment requirements
  • Collaborate as part of a cross-functional agile product team of subject matter experts, architects, designers, QA, and developers to turn early-stage concepts into reality
  • Clearly communicate product plans, objectives and progress against plans and new release summaries to all stakeholders
  • Evaluate whether your solutions are achieving their objectives through quantitative and qualitative measures
  • Produce product positioning collateral in conjunction with marketing
  • Develop product documentation in conjunction with our technical writers, including internal and external collateral to support GTM activities
  • Contribute to sales and partner training as needed to enable our field teams to communicate the value we provide
  • Contribute to our developing product management practice, continually seeking to improve how we go about what we do

Requirements:

  • Mastery skill and experience working as a product designer or UX/UI designer influencing product direction and strategy across multiple pieces of work
  • Excellent working knowledge of the design process, experience design methodologies and principles
  • Proven experience using design processes and tools to digitise experiences including the use of Figma, Aha, and other digital collaboration tools
  • Extensive experience in visual design and user interactions
  • Understands that the goal is to create a distinct value and advantage in the market that attracts and retains customers, and ultimately leads to business growth and success for CloudSense
  • Is a leader who has a strong balance of business and technical knowledge and the ability to think outside of the box
  • Uses these skills not only to communicate effectively with different audiences, but also to assure that the product innovations CloudSense brings to market connect with customer business value
  • Solid grasp of human-centred design (HCD) applying customer-centric and design thinking to create outstanding customer and banker experiences. Have a growth mindset striving for personal and organisational growth.
  • Interviews and Testing - Plan and conduct interviews and testing using various techniques and translate insights into solid design solutions and provide strong rationale for the design decisions made
  • Define key metrics for evaluating usability and overall user experience using benchmarking tools
  • Storyboards and Userflows - Competent in scenario planning, creating story boards, userflows, taskflows and wireflows including error scenarios and task analysis
  • Strong experience using a variety of prototyping methods including low, mid & high-fidelity prototypes, wireframes, interaction design, information architecture and accessible content hierarchies, flow sequencing, and page-level structures
  • Experience with design systems including creating component design & specification and experience patterns. Experience creating digital layouts and responsive design
  • Experience applying accessibility guidelines to create inclusive design
  • Ability to collaborate closely with a cross functional team of Designers, Product Managers, Industry Specialists, Engineers/Developers, and other experts across the business to define cohesive, accessible, attractive design standards, interaction patterns and styles across our entire suite of products
  • Proven experience communicating between technical and business stakeholders, building rapport, and maintaining stakeholder relationships, communicating confidently and presenting in a clear, concise and articulate manner to all stakeholders
  • B.Sc. or higher in Computer Science or a related field or relevant industry experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Product/ UX/UI Design, with at least 2+ years of experience in Software as a Service (SaaS)
  • Experience working face-to-face with customers, including both business and technical stakeholders and decision makers
  • Strong writing, communication and presentation skills for both external (customers, partners, analysts, industry conferences) and internal audiences. Skills in Google and/or Microsoft tools a must
  • Experience working in an agile software development environment
  • Collaborative person who uses listening skills to truly understand needs and concerns of the customer user community and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment working with cross functional teams
  • Experience in effectively working in a distributed, global company
  • Master in Business Administration (MBA) or similar
  • Software domain experience in Configure-Price-Quote (CPQ), Order Management, Analytics, and/or CRM in general
  • Working experience and knowledge in the industry verticals we serve – Communications, Media & Utilities/Energy
